Back to the FAQ list
Do much more drawing, use challenging art materials and
don't simply stick to what you already know or can already do.
More and more schools are offering life drawing as an after school activity,
if your school doesn't maybe another school or college might. Some of
these classes will have tutoring, others won't. If you don't fancy an
organised class maybe you could talk a friend or relation into posing
for you (total nudity optional), it is also possible to hire artist's
models through Bare Facts or Artists' Newsletter- you would need a suitable
location however. If none of these seem possible then it's a case of you
and a reasonably sized mirror.
As far as artists are concerned there are many but those favoured by the
Outreach tutors include; Alberto Giacometti, Frank Auerbach, Kathe Kollwitz,
Dennis Creffield, Roy Oxlade, Euan Uglow, Leon Kossoff, Sickert, van Gogh,
Tintoretto, Michaelangelo, Rodin and also those artists previously listed.
